With less than 10 days remaining before the World Cup is staged in South Africa , excitement is escalating as the world eagerly awaits the greatest show on earth.

 

The Cape Town Stadium has been completed and is well equipped to host ‘the beautiful game’. The anticipated completion has amplified the energy in the Western Cape and locals are counting down the days to the official kick-off in the Mother City . The Cape Town Stadium will host a total of eight matches during the World Cup, including a semi-final.

Ticket sales

Ticket sales are currently in the fourth phase and well over two million tickets have been sold to date. Soccer fans who entered Fifa’s random selection draw process stand a chance of obtaining tickets for matches that have already sold out. Fifa’s fifth sales phase commences on 15 April and all tickets will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis.

Soccer events leading up to the World Cup
